Does my child need sewing or fashion design experience?
No. Our classes are designed for beginners through advanced young designers. We guide students step-by-step, helping them build confidence and develop new skills at their own pace. Whether your child is picking up a pencil for the first fashion sketch or is ready to sew garments, we provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
What will my child learn?
Students experience the complete fashion design process, including inspiration, mood boards, fashion illustration, color theory, textiles, fabric selection, basic sewing techniques, garment construction, and creative presentation. Every project is designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and confidence while introducing real-world fashion design concepts.
What age groups do you serve?
English Design Laboratory offers programs for students from the 3rd grade through Middle School. Classes are organized by age and skill level to ensure every student receives instruction that is engaging, challenging, and appropriate for their stage of development.
What should my child bring to class?
Most supplies are provided unless otherwise noted. Parents will receive a welcome email before class with a list of any recommended materials or optional supplies. Students should come ready to learn, create, and have fun.
